Barkley the Growling Dog

                                                Once upon a time, there was a dog named Barkley, who would end up growling a lot even though he didn't mean to. He even growled at his best friend, a myna bird named Pete.                     One sunny day, Barkley and Pete met up together.                     "How are you doing, Barkley?" asked Pete.                           "I'm doing well, Pete," Barkley answered. "But sometimes I have a tendency to growl at other animals including you, my best friend. It's just a thing we dogs do."          "Well, that's not very nice," said Pete.                              "How are you doing, Barkley?" asks Pete.             "I'm doing pretty well," answers Barkley. "But sometimes I have a tendency to bite and growl at other animals, which is a thing we dogs do."          "Well, that's not very nice," says Pete. "You shouldn't bite or growl at others."          "You're scaring me, Barkley!" a cat named Caterina says nervously.          "You're frightening me, too, Barkley!" adds a squirrel named Sylvester.          "I'm so sorry," Barkley tells them. "I'll try hard to break my habit of growling and biting."          "We all forgive you, Barkley," Pete, Caterina, and Sylvester reply.          "I'm glad we can still be best friends!" Pete tells Barkley.
