Barkley the Growling Dog

                      

                Once upon a time, there was a dog named Barkley, who would end up growling a lot even though he didn't mean to. He even growled at his best friend, a myna bird named Pete.

                    One sunny day, Barkley and Pete met up together.
                    "How are you doing, Barkley?" asked Pete.

                     "I'm doing well, Pete," Barkley answered. "But sometimes I have a tendency to growl at other animals including you, my best friend. It's just a thing we dogs do."

        "Well, that's not very nice," said Pete. "You shouldn't growl at anyone."

"I know," Barkley replied. "I'll try really hard to break this habit."

So Barkley tried to act more nicely, but he ended up growling at a cat named Caterina.

"You're scaring me, Barkley!" Caterina said nervously.

           "Sorry, Caterina," he apologized. Then he ran into a squirrel named Sylvester and let out another growl.

"You're frightening me, too!" added Sylvester.

"Sorry, Sylvester," Barkley apologized again.

Just then, Pete walked up to see what was happening. That's when Barkley started looking fierce again, yet letting out another harsh growl.

"Whoa, you really need to get your act together, Barkley!" Pete gasped. "Learn to resist temptation."

After taking some deep breaths to calm down, Barkley agreed, "You're right, Pete. What am I thinking? I'm so very sorry. From now on, I'll really keep my promise to be nicer and more respectful to all of you." 

"It's all right, Barkley," said Pete.

"We forgive you," said Sylvester.

"Apology accepted," added Caterina, smiling.

So everyone ends up hugging, smiling, and staying friends--thanks to Barkley's promise not to growl anymore.

Hanging with My Grandfather

  On Tuesdays, I usually go out with my grandfather to eat at Denny’s. I like getting yummy, scrumptious chocolate-chip-and-banana pancakes with yummy, delicious sausage links. Different Signs

                There are quite a lot of signs in the whole world. When I see each of these signs, it is clearly readable with different colors of letters and a background. The sound I hear of a sign is when it can be flapped up and down on a wall, depending on the texture of the sign. It can feel soft with a cardboard or leathery texture or as hard and solid as a rock. The main purpose of coming upon signs is that they show us directions and keep us safe such as street signs. If I ever had a chance to smell a sign, its smell would appear to be delightful and as fresh as a lovely perfume.
